BIOGRAPHY

​

 

I'm a highly experienced and skilled offline and online broadcast Avid editor.

My credits span the breadth of UK television output, from shiny floor entertainment, comedy, game and quiz shows, to factual documentaries and features, reality television, non-scripted content, music projects, drama and reconstruction, news, consumer television, promotional content, 'sizzles', and even cookery programming.

Driven by a passion for crafting compelling stories, I combine a proactive work ethic, enthusiasm, and humour with craft and technical expertise, all supported by over twenty years of experience in editorial programme making. I understand that narrative and content are essential, regardless of the genre and ensure story and creative picture editing work hand in hand, whilst incorporating various editing techniques and styles that I have learned throughout my diverse and often complex program-making career; all supported by my technical broadcast delivery skills in finishing, grading, and sound mixing.

Whether working to a brief, under direction, or editing remotely, I'm a motivated editor who fully embraces the organic nature of program-making and is committed to delivering excellence within set deadlines. I thrive under pressure, can quickly interpret instructions, and proactively find creative editing solutions to ensure the audience remains engaged, entertained, and captivated by the content I help create. My sense of humour and appreciation for it are assets for comedy, non-scripted and reality productions.

My career began at BBC Television Centre in London, where I started my editing career as a twenty-four-year-old, working on Saturday night primetime entertainment shows such as Noel's House Party, cutting hidden camera celebrity 'gotcha' comedy segments for the show. I later moved to a Soho facility, where I served as a senior online editor for four years, before returning to the BBC in Cardiff, where I briefly resumed my role as a staff editor for BBC Wales post-production, who needed an excellent broadcast offline & finishing/online delivery editor for their sports and programme output.

Since then, I've continued to enjoy a successful freelance editing career in London, focusing on projects that are interesting, challenging, and always entertaining
