DUETTO: Salvatore & Marcelo
Two Tenors live in Rome

Marcelo Alvarez and Salvatore Licitra sing Dovunque Sarai in Rome, 2003
This was a BBC Wales Music Dept co-production with Sony Music Classical and PBS America.
In June 2003, five days were spent in a hotel room in Rome, rehearsing for this operatic concert, which was staged against the backdrop of the Colosseum.
I cut a 60-minute BBC2 program and a 90-minute BBC4 program. Additionally, we edited an alternative 60-minute version for PBS America, which was transmitted the next day via a satellite uplink.
Thankfully, I don't need to work through the night these days.
A technically challenging and demanding project that was a fantastic experience to be a part of.
This was the first time an Avid Unity system was utilised by BBC Wales & following its success, it was installed. It radically upgraded the post department into a 'joined up' facility that could efficiently & effectively manage Doctor Who when it arrived. Chris Blatchford's progressive department leadership was vital to the success of many Wales-based projects & my positive approach to working within BBC Wales Post Production.
